Michael Dobson will be the next chair of Berkeley Group.
The former Schroders chair will take the reins following the group’s AGM on 6 September.
Dobson, who has previously held leadership positions at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Grenfell, will take over from Glyn Barker. Barker was appointed for a two-year transition period following the death of Berkeley’s chair and founder Tony Pidgley.
Chief executive Rob Perrins said: “In welcoming Michael to the board, I would like to personally thank Glyn for the enormous contribution he has made to Berkeley during his time as a non-executive director and, in particular, over these last two years in overseeing the transition and development of the board, following Tony’s passing. I am excited for the future of Berkeley and look forward to working with Michael and the board to realise this.”
