Berkeley Group has appointed journalist Sarah Sands as a non-executive director.
Sands was previously editor of the BBC Radio 4 Today programme and editor at the London Evening Standard and the Sunday Telegraph.
She is a board director at Hawthorn Advisors and chair of the 2021 Gender Equality Council for G7 and also sits on the board of London First and political think-tank Bright Blue.
Sands will join the housebuilder from 30 April as part of a programme to refresh the board by June 2022.
Berkeley chairman Glyn Barker said: “She brings a valuable perspective to the board on issues that are central to Berkeley’s vision and values, including in respect of the environment, sustainability, community and inclusivity.”
