Benson cherry picks Bentley Portfolio

Meadows_Chelmsford_THUMB.jpegBenson Elliott has gone under offer on two major assets in Legal & General’s £295m mixed-use Bentley Portfolio.

It will pay in excess of £135m for the 197,000 sq ft Meadows shopping centre in Chelmsford, Essex and the 262,000 sq ft Guildford business park in Surrey.

Forty-seven trade parks known as the FIX Portfolio, which were originally included in the sale when it was marketed in April, are to be retained by L&G.

The portfolio, which comprises the remainder of the UK Property Income Fund I, attracted interest from Varde, AEW, Goldman Sachs and Harbert Management Corporation. It was marketed with a £295m price tag – a 7% yield. .
