BBC to move Breakfast show to Salford

 

The BBC has confirmed that its flagship BBC Breakfast programme will be relocated to Peel Holdings’ MediaCityUK in Salford, as part of the broadcaster’s partial move to Greater Manchester.

 

The corporation has confirmed that around 88 jobs will be relocated from London in the move.

 

From 2011, the BBC will begin moving staff from BBC Sport, Children’s BBC, Learning and Radio 5 Live to MediaCityUK.

 

In a statement, the BBC said: “The show will benefit from an iconic new waterside location which offers views of The Lowry Theatre, the Imperial War Museum North, the Peak District and the Manchester Ship Canal.”
