Barnard Marcus’s 21 June sale posted a 65% success rate and raised £17.3m.
The auction, which took place two days before the EU referendum, was its smallest so far this year. Out of 159 lots, 23 sold prior and 69 in the room.
Receipts were down substantially on the previous month’s £24.6m and last June’s £23.4m, while the success rate was the lowest the firm has recorded since 2011.
The largest lot sold on the day was a freehold vacant building in Fulham, SW6, in shell condition that previously had a minicab office on the ground floor and four studio flats above. It sold for £680,000.
The sale took place at the Grand Connaught Rooms, WC2.
