Avison Young ramps up expansion plans with five-strong hire

Avison Young has appointed a team of five from London consultancy firm Source8.

Gayatri Kunhiraman and Wes Cockle have joined as directors of EMEA projects and strategic advisory in AY’s occupier solutions and consulting business.

They have joined along with their colleagues, project directors Jeff Stevens and Rupali Vaish, and senior manager, business development and account management Alice Davidson.

The team has worked with corporate clients across the EMEA region, including Microsoft, McKinsey, Oracle, Google, IBM, MasterCard, Nokia, Amazon and Uber.

Based in the UK, their focus will be to support clients operating in Europe, Africa and the Middle East with their real estate requirements.

Jason Sibthorpe, principal and president of the UK at Avison Young, said: “Historically we haven’t had the international depth on the same scale as Cushman & Wakefield or JLL. We want to continue to grow and expand our footprint and be able to compete across a larger base.”

Source8, which focuses on real estate, technology and risk management consultancy services, was acquired by Mitie Group in 2014.

These latest additions to AY follow the hiring of Jamie Olley, formerly Savills director of central London international investment in September, as well as Dan Kent and Rob Fraser, former directors at Savills retail team, in June, following its £200m acquisition of GVA at the end of last year.
