AUDIO: Edinburgh’s new funding model for regeneration

AUDIO: Edinburgh city council and TIAA Henderson’s deal unlocking the £850m St James Quarter in the city hit the news last week.

The council announced the £61m required to improve local infrastructure and public space for Edinburgh would be granted through a new regeneration accelerator model (RAM).

But what does this new funding model involve?

Kyle Drummond, economic development officer at the council, explains the difference between TIF (tax incremental finance) and the new RAM (regeneration accelerator model).

Other big ticket regeneration projects likely to benefit from RAM include the Quartermile development, Haymarket project and the regeneration of Fountainbridge.
