Emporio Armani is to open a new flagship store in Glasgow as the first retail occupier in Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management’s Connect110ns mixed-use development.

The Italian fashion house will create a two-level store spanning 6,300 sq ft at 224 Ingram Street, joining fashion brands including Polo Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss and Mulberry on the thoroughfare.

The store will open before Christmas and replace the current Armani store in the Merchant City district, which was the first UK Armani store outside of London when it opened in 1990.

Connect110ns, which is managed by BAM Properties, has 13,700 sq ft of retail space and 83,000 sq ft of office remaining to let. It was completed in June.

BAM Construct UK property managing director John Burke said: “Armani’s presence in Connect110ns is a fantastic style statement for this part of Glasgow, and indeed our development, and underpins the city’s reputation for fashion. It is a terrific complement to our existing occupiers in the office element of the development.”

Cushman & Wakefield represented BAM Properties.
