ARM extends Cambridge campus

ARM-Campus-Peterhouse-Tech-Park

Technology firm ARM has submitted plans for a 200,000 sq ft extension of its global headquarters in Cambridge, more than doubling the amount of space it occupies.

The firm is aiming to increase its workforce from 1,200 to 2,500 by 2016. It currently occupies 120,000 sq ft at LaSalle Investment Management’s Peterhouse Technology Park over four buildings. The Scott Brownrigg-designed plans propose the demolition of one of these buildings and the development of two new offices.

To accommodate the firm’s plans, 9.1 acres of green belt land adjacent to the park will have to be released.

Microchips produced by ARM are used in nearly all smartphones. The company has a current market capitalisation of £14bn.

Commercial Estates Group is the development manager.
