Demand for vineyards is on the rise according to figures from both Strutt & Parker and Cheffins as English wines are proving more and more popular.
Knight Frank recently sold Hidden Spring Vineyard in West Sussex off market for just over £3m to South African buyers that wanted to buy a going concern in the UK wine market. The property came with a developed business and brand, plus an award-winning wine.
Fine wine was the best performer among “luxury” investments in 2021, according to Knight Frank, when it returned on average 16%. But those with more money to play with and an entrepreneurial streak could make even more by buying a vineyard.
