Arden University expands to Leeds’ 7 Park Square East

Arden University has agreed a 10-year lease on an 18,100 sq ft workspace at 7 Park Square East, Leeds, as it looks to expand its base of operations across the north of England.

The move comes amid a surge in demand for office space among universities. Recent data from the Leeds Office Agents’ Forum shows that during Q2, 48% of the 147,047 sq ft snapped up in Leeds was taken by education providers.

Vitaly Klopot, chief innovation and commercial officer at Arden University, said: “Leeds is the ideal next location for Arden University to make its mark. We look forward to supporting young people across the city as they gain the skills they need to succeed in the jobs the local economy needs now and in the future.”

Arden University is a flexible, online and blended learning provider, which has UK study centres in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Landlord UKI is the owner and operator of 7 Park Square East. The leasing deal was brokered by JLL and Sanderson Weatherall, which acted on behalf of UKI, while James Andrew International acted for Arden University.

Richard Thornton, director of office agency at JLL in Leeds, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic reframed the debate around remote study. This has allowed institutions such as Arden University to really come into their own, as more students undertake hybrid courses involving a mix of in-person and solo working.”
