Apache launches £1.6bn family housing platform

Apache Capital has launched Present Made, a platform to deliver £1.6bn in rental housing.

The investor aims to develop more than 3,000 homes in suburban locations in England, using modern methods of construction.

It has acquired three sites in the Oxford Cambridge Arc.

The investor is the latest to enter the suburban build-to-rent market, following new business ventures from L&G, Packaged Living and a portfolio acquisition from Goldman Sachs, among others.

Present Made is Apache’s second BTR business, after its £2bn joint venture with developer-operator Moda Living, which is delivering more than 6,000 flats, backed by NFU Mutual and Harrison Street.

Richard Jackson, managing director and co-founder of Apache Capital and chief executive at Present Made, said: “Despite record numbers of families renting, no purpose-built, single-family rental housing exists in the UK.

“Present Made will cater to this growing but under-served segment of the rental market by providing high-quality, smart homes designed and built specifically for rent, delivered through precision engineering and operated by our own dedicated in-house team.”
