Amazon is paying $650m (£523m)-$750m to buy Dubai-based online retailer Souq.com, in a deal signed this week, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
The acquisition will give Amazon, which had been contemplating entering the Middle Eastern market under its own name, an established customer base and infrastructure.
