Amazon purchases Bristol land for distribution centre

Seattle-based e-tailer Amazon has bought a 33.5-acre site in Avonmouth, Bristol, where it will develop a 2.2m sq ft multi-storey distribution facility.

It has paid around £13.4m for the land at Severnside Distribution Land’s logistics development at Central Park.

Once complete, the shed will be four storeys.

This is the first time Amazon has bought land to develop its own facility.

The building will be similar in design to its 1.1m sq ft logistics hub at Verdion’s iPort development in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

CBRE is Amazon’s retained UK property adviser; Knight Frank and GVA advised Severnside Distribution.
