Allied London has submitted the final planning application for its St John’s development on the site of the former ITV Granada Studios in Manchester.
Planning applications for the mixed-use St John’s Place, the Villages, the Riverside and a “vertical village” at Trinity Islands, have been submitted to complete the masterplan.
It follows submissions for the Bonded Warehouse and the Manchester Grande hotel, which were filed in June.
St John’s Place will include a 50-storey tower comprising 280 flats and 180 hotel suites, along with a 150-bedroom apart-hotel and two residential blocks.
Trinity Islands, designed by Child Graddon Lewis, will comprise 1,200 homes in six towers on a 4.7-acre site.
The Riverside submission comprises two residential towers of 30 and 40 storeys and green spaces along the River Irwell.
Phase 2 of the Villages will include low-rise flats, shops and workspace around pedestrianised streets.
Simpson Haugh designed the buildings and the masterplan.
Allied London chief executive Michael Ingall said: “We intend to foster a close relationship with all future members of the Trinity Islands and St John’s community from the outset. Our strategy will see Allied London engage with future residents of these new neighbourhoods and will allow them to help mould the communities in which they live.
“Continual public engagement and feedback has always been a key part of the development of St John’s. Allied London is leading the way in this kind of bottom-up strategy, and we are continuing this process with the creation of this new community-focused role.”
Subject to planning approval, Allied London plans to start construction of St. John’s in 2016.
