Allied London has received planning permission for the redevelopment and refurbishment of the old Granada Studios in Manchester.
Plans for the former Granada Television HQ include a new 10-storey office and residential building with retail on the ground floor and a rooftop pool.
The building will include more than 26,000 sq ft of offices space and 22 flats.
The proposals are an update on the original plans submitted by architect Levitt Bernstein, approved in 2015.
One of the significant additions is a 210-bed hotel operated by Soho House’s Mollies Motel & Diner brand – an expansion on the original plans for a 150-bed hotel.
The site, part of Allied London’s St John’s development, will also include a four-storey modular office building at the rear of Granada House, which will be used as an incubator for small start-up businesses.
Allied London also plans to convert four of the existing studios into events spaces and filming studios.
