The former home of the BBC World Service, Bush House, WC2, is set to welcome new anchor tenant King’s College next year.
Part of four buildings that make up the new Aldwych Quarter, the site has now completed a 20-month, £60m refurbishment, and Estates Gazette has been given an exclusive look inside.
Owned by Kato Kagaku, Aldwych Quarter has been refurbished to modern British Council for Offices standards.
JLL head of City leasing Dan Burn said: “At day one King’s will occupy Bush House and Strand House – which are roughly 200,000 sq ft.
“King House they have taken a longer-term commitment on, but the intention is not to occupy that at day one. And Melbourne House they will take occupancy of that once the sub-tenants we have currently leased it to vacate the premises within the next five to 10 years.”
King’s College has taken a 50-year lease for the entire 300,000 sq ft of office space.
