Alderley Park launches scheme to boost life sciences start-ups

Bruntwood SciTech has rolled out its new Life Science Accelerator programme at the 400-acre Alderley Park, Cheshire.

The six-month programme has been designed to cater to the needs of early-stage life science companies from across the UK.

It will combine complimentary laboratory access and business model development support provided by Bruntwood SciTech’s partners, including Triple Chasm, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Marks & Clerk, Pharmalytical Services, Mercia Ventures, Praetura Group.

The intake will be limited to up to 10 early-stage life science venture companies. The project is being funded by the government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Kath Mackay, chief scientific officer at Bruntwood SciTech, said: “Our mission is to empower these companies to bring their innovative ideas to fruition, ultimately contributing to the advancement of the life sciences sector and the broader economy.”

Alderley Park, owned and operated by Bruntwood SciTech – a joint venture between Bruntwood, Legal & General and Greater Manchester Pension Fund – is already home to over 250 companies working within the science and technology sectors.
