AHL in service at Kent manor house

leyswood-house

A manor house designed by Victorian architect Richard Norman Shaw and occupied by the Canadian army during the Second World War, sold at Auction House London’s 14 December sale for its guide price of £1.5m.

Much of Leyswood House, near Tunbridge Wells, Kent, was demolished in the 1950s, but the staff wing, gatehouse and a gazebo remain.

The auction was held at the Landmark London Hotel, NW1.
