Acuitus has cancelled its 26 March sale following the lockdown announced by government last night.
The commercial auctioneer had been due to offer 47 lots, but told clients: “Following the further advice from the government last night, it is with regret that our auction this Thursday will not now take place.
“We had been working closely with our selling and buying clients to permit the live auction to take place fully remotely using all three bidding channels of online, telephone and proxy.
“Notwithstanding the successful implementation of these measures, together with our clients we have taken the only responsible decision available to us and that is for the auction not to take place.”
The firm said it would be implementing a range of sales strategies and solutions for its clients going forward.
“We will also continue to provide updates, sale opportunities and finance for our HNWI and property companies clients so that they can continue to invest.”
