Housebuilder Countryside and housing association L&Q have won planning permission for a further 215 homes in Acton Gardens.
The mixed-tenure development will complete phase 9 of the £800m regeneration of the South Acton Estate in west London, and also complete the western quarter of Acton Gardens. The 52-acre masterplan aims to deliver nearly 3,500 homes.
Designed by Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects, 50% of the homes in the latest phase will be affordable, with courtyard gardens and public spaces. Works are expected to begin in late summer 2022 with the first completions due in 2024.
The existing allotments – a priority issue for the local community – will be reconfigured but enlarged.
Daniel King, managing director for west London and the Thames Valley at Countryside, said:“We are delighted to have received unanimous planning approval for these much-needed new homes.”
Darren Parker, director of project management and development at L&Q, said: “This was a wonderful way to cap off 2021. With new and affordable homes, open spaces and improved community allotments, the latest phases showcase our commitment to creating beautiful places where people can thrive.”
