MIPIM 2017: The enthusiasm around UK and European proptech is not yet matched by “a volume of successful entrepreneurs”, according to Aaron Block, co-founder of New York-based real estate accelerator Metaprop.
Speaking to EG at MIPIM, Block added that it would only be a matter of time before the London and western European tech hubs saw a boost in the emergence of successful start-ups in the field.
He said: “You have the number-one venture investment community in the Bay Area, you have the number-one real estate community in New York globally by size, so I think it is natural that these places are where we have seen the bulk of successful start-ups founded.
“To help markets outside San Francisco and New York, we should focus on bringing additional sources of capital for early-stage ventures.”
