Clivaz to open new City members club

Devonshire-Square-1000pxThe City of London Corporation has granted permission for a 50,000 sq ft private members club at Blackstone’s Devonshire Square, EC2.

The club, spread over six floors, will feature a brasserie, bars and business suites, plus 68 bedrooms. Brian Clivaz, the entrepreneur behind Mayfair’s Arts Club and Marylebone’s Home House, will manage the club and is a shareholder in the venture alongside Lord Ashcroft and Harry Harris.

RBS Group has provided senior debt to fund the club, which sits on the site of the East India Company’s 19th century trade house.
