Everybody knows there are three steps to heaven, but for APC candidates the magic number is 20. That is according to APC chairman of assessors and expert in the field Jon Lever, who this week shares those steps to APC success with Estates Gazette.
In a special feature-length edition of the Pathway to Success series, Lever draws from his considerable experience to offer a comprehensive guide for APC candidates that will take them through the entire process from beginning to end.
From joining the RICS and getting their first job, Lever offers top tips to candidates on how to be organised, well documented, and gain the all-important experience required. Then he takes candidates through the various stages of the process, including understanding the three levels of professional competency, preparing a case study and ensuring they can show enough continuous professional development.
Lever also offers vital information on the final assessment, which should stand candidates in good stead when they are ready to face it.
Lever’s 20 steps to APC success can be enjoyed in the Practice & Law section of this week’s Estates Gazette, online at EGi and in a special podcast, while more detailed guidance can be found every fortnight as the Pathway to Success series continues.
